He Is Busy With You

Beloved, can I tell you something I’ve had to learn slowly?

The seasons that felt like detours were never wasted.

There was a time I looked at my life and saw only what was coming apart. Plans I had carried for years were slowly unravelling. I asked God why. I asked Him where He was.

And gently, over time, He showed me.

He was there. Busy. Working.

What you call inconvenience, He calls training ground.

The pressure you’re under right now is not proof that He has forgotten you. Often it is the very place He leans in closest.

Paul reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Not some things. Not only the pretty things.

All things.

Even this.

He is doing something new.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)

Sometimes we miss it because we’re still staring at the old thing. Still grieving what we thought life would look like.

But His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). Fresh mercy, falling on the soil of your life, even when the ground feels hard.

He will grow what you could never dig up on your own.

What feels like your unravelling may be God’s untangling.

I’ve come to see that some of what came apart in my life was tangled up in false foundations. Ideas of success and security I had built without Him.

When those threads loosened, He didn’t leave me in the mess.

He began, patiently, to untangle it. Strand by strand, He drew me back to what was true.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.” (Isaiah 55:8). His plans are higher. Kinder. More redemptive than anything we could design.

He finishes what He starts.

You are not a half-built project He has abandoned.

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6).

So lay down your ideas of how it should have gone.

Open your hands.

Let Him surprise you.

A prayer for today

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.” (Psalm 25:4–5)

Lord, I release the plans I’ve held too tightly. I trust that You are untangling what I cannot. Lead me, step by step, into the life You’ve prepared for me.

Amen.

Walk Held.
