Harvest Is Coming

A reminder for when the field still looks empty.

My dear friend,

Harvest is coming.

I know there are days when you wonder whether some of the seeds you have sown will ever become anything you can see.

Seeds of prayer.
Seeds of obedience.
Seeds of forgiveness.
Seeds of showing up when you would rather have withdrawn.
Seeds of loving when love was not returned in the way you hoped.
Seeds of beginning again.
Seeds planted with tears running down your face.

Some of them have been underground for a very long time.

And perhaps that is the part you need to remember today:

Buried is not the same as dead.

There are seasons when God does some of His deepest work where we cannot see it.

We look at the surface and see nothing changing. God looks beneath the soil and sees roots forming.

We call it waiting.

He calls it preparation.

We wonder whether anything is happening.

He knows exactly what He is growing.

There have been valleys in your life where you weren’t walking with great strength or impressive faith. You were simply putting one foot in front of the other.

And somehow, grace kept meeting you there.

Looking back now, you can see it.

You were held.

Not because you always knew what to do.
Not because you always believed perfectly.
Not because you never became tired, disappointed or afraid.

You were held because He is faithful.

And leaning on Him was never your weakness.

It was your strength.

Some places once looked like deserts that are already becoming gardens.

Perhaps not the garden you imagined.

Perhaps not according to the timeline you would have chosen.

But there is life where there once seemed to be only loss.

There is wisdom where there was once confusion.

There is tenderness where pain could have made you hard.

There is discernment where you once doubted yourself.

There is a deeper knowledge of God that could never have been learned from a life in which everything went according to plan.

And maybe this is what you need to hear today:

Don’t judge the harvest by the appearance of the field.

God has been working in hidden places.

In your family.

In your calling.

In the prayers you have whispered when nobody else was listening.

In the things you surrendered because you could no longer carry them.

In the places where you finally stopped trying to control the outcome and simply said, Lord, I trust You with this.

You don’t yet know what all of it will become.

But you know Him.

And you have history with Him.

So look back.

Remember the doors that opened when there seemed to be no way forward.

Remember the provision that arrived at exactly the right moment.

Remember the prayers that were answered differently from what you expected—but eventually revealed His kindness.

Remember the things you once thought would destroy you that God somehow redeemed.

Remember the times He carried you when you had absolutely no strength left to carry yourself.

Remember His faithfulness.

Because remembering yesterday’s faithfulness gives courage to trust Him with tomorrow’s harvest.

And perhaps preparation for harvest looks different from what you think.

Maybe it isn’t striving harder.

Maybe it is enlarging your capacity to receive.

To receive joy without waiting for something to go wrong.

To receive goodness without questioning whether you deserve it.

To receive restoration without needing it to look exactly like what was lost.

To receive new things without demanding that God resurrect old ones.

To receive love.

To receive peace.

To receive abundance.

To receive the possibility that some of the most beautiful chapters of your life have not happened yet.

There are treasures hidden in places you once called darkness.

One day you may look back at this season and realise that God was doing far more than you could see.

And perhaps you will understand why certain things took so long.

Perhaps you won’t.

But you will see His fingerprints.

And you will know:

None of it was wasted.

Not the tears.

Not the waiting.

Not the disappointment.

Not the obedience nobody applauded.

Not the prayers that seemed to disappear into silence.

Not even the years that felt barren.

God knows what was planted there.

Psalm 126 gives us this extraordinary picture:

“They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow, but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back armloads of blessing and a harvest overflowing!”
Psalm 126:6

Notice what they carried into the field.

Seed and tears.

Both.

Faith did not mean there were no tears.

The tears accompanied the sowing.

And still—

there was a harvest.

So dear friend, keep your heart soft.

Keep your hands open.

Keep loving.

Keep forgiving.

Keep creating.

Keep walking.

Keep planting what God places in your hands.

And where there is nothing left for you to do, rest.

You do not have to manufacture the harvest.

Your responsibility was never to make the seed grow.

There is a Gardener who knows exactly what He is doing.

And perhaps the invitation for this season is simply this:

Stop staring at the empty field asking, “Where is it?”

Lift your eyes.

Remember your history with God.

And begin making room for goodness.

Because the same God who met you in the valley is already standing in your tomorrow.

The same God who sustained you through the sowing can be trusted with the reaping.

The same God who redeemed what you thought was ruined is not finished writing your story.

So when your heart becomes tired, remind her again:

Harvest is coming.

Not because every story will unfold exactly as you imagined.

Not because God owes you a particular outcome.

But because nothing surrendered to Him is wasted.

There will be fruit from this life.

There will be beauty from places that once hurt.

There will be redemption you could never have orchestrated.

And there will be moments when you stand among things that once existed only as prayers and realise:

God was growing something all along.

“Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting.”
Psalm 126:5

Keep sowing, beloved.

And leave the harvest to Him.
