Jehovah Rapha — The God Who Heals
“For I am the Lord who heals you.” — Exodus 15:26
One of the most beautiful names of God is Jehovah Rapha — The Lord Who Heals.
Not the God who only healed. Not the God who sometimes heals. Not the God who heals everyone else.
The God who heals me.
I have lived long enough now and surrendered enough to say that with confidence. There is a season for building — for achievement, for proving, for surviving what life hands you. And there is a season that comes after it, quieter but deeper, where what matters most is not what you have built but who you have become. I am in that second season. And it was Jehovah Rapha who brought me here.
For years, I understood healing mostly as God changing my circumstances. Healing looked like restoration on the outside — the breakthrough, the answered prayer, the thing I was waiting for finally shifting.
But then I met Jehovah Rapha in a deeper place.
I discovered the God who steps into the hidden rooms of the heart — the places no one else sees. The places where disappointment has settled. Where fear has quietly taken root. Where loss, rejection, or unanswered questions have left their marks.
And there He pours His healing oil.
Slowly. Tenderly. Deliberately.
My healing did not always look like one instant moment where everything around me changed. Sometimes it looked like waking up and realising the pain no longer had the same power over me. Sometimes it looked like forgiving when my own strength could not get me there. Sometimes it looked like peace in circumstances that were still unresolved. Sometimes it simply looked like standing, when I thought I would fall. And other times it looked like joy over the smallest of things. And hope. Hope for a present and a future that was different than what I ever imagined.
That is the miracle of Jehovah Rapha.
He does not only heal what happened to us. He heals what happened inside of us.
The enemy’s greatest desire is not only to create difficult circumstances around us — it is to use those circumstances to define us. To convince us that disappointment is the end of the story. That brokenness becomes our identity. That fear gets the final word.
But the enemy does not win.
Jesus does. Every time. Halleluja!!!
Because when the Healer steps into a heart, everything changes.
The circumstances around me are still not perfect. Yes, there are so many prayers that I am still praying. There are numerous places where I am still trusting God to move. In my life, in my family, and for my children. There are things I cannot control. But I know this now: I am not waiting for perfect circumstances before I experience His goodness — because I have Him, and He is enough.
The miracle is that He enables us to stand in the middle of the unknown. He teaches our hearts to trust before we see. He anchors us when life feels uncertain.
Healing is not always God removing every battle. Sometimes healing is discovering that the battle no longer owns your heart.
His truth begins to replace every lie. His presence begins to quiet every fear. His love begins to restore every broken place.
A divine exchange happens:
Faith over fear. Beauty for ashes. Purpose over the pain and wholeness over brokenness. Only God – Jehovah Rapha can do that!
Jehovah Rapha does not look at the broken pieces of our lives and turn away. He comes closer. He sees every part of your beautiful heart — every tear, every disappointment, every prayer whispered when no one else was listening. And He says:
“I am the Lord who heals you.”
Today, lean your head against the heart of the Father again. Listen. You are loved. You are held. You are being restored. His healing oil is still flowing.
And the very places where you once needed healing may become the places where His love flows through you to bring healing to someone else. That is what I want this next season of my life to hold — not performance, not striving, but a quiet, faithful pouring-out of what He has already poured into me.
Because that is what Jehovah Rapha does.
He does not just heal hearts.
He turns healed hearts into vessels of hope.
